The Department of Education this afternoon published Circular 0042/2021,  Coronavirus (COVID-19): Arrangements for Teachers and Special Needs Assistants employed in recognised Primary and Post Primary schools

This Circular supersedes Circular 0021/2021 Coronavirus (COVID-19): Arrangements for Teachers and Special Needs Assistants employed in recognised primary and post primary schools. The Circular also supersedes Information Note TC 0013/2021 and TC 0025/2021

Members with queries on any aspect of this circular should send them through to tui@tui.ie, giving details of their TUI Branch.

TUI has a particular concern over the return to workplaces of those teachers for whom the timing of their pregnancy precludes them from being vaccinated, as they have been advised that they should not receive a vaccine until they are at least 14 weeks pregnant.

We have already set out our serious concerns in several engagements with the Department and will continue to seek to have this fundamental unfairness addressed.

TUI will continue to raise all issues of concern with the Department.

Any further updates will be placed on this website in the coming days.
